Description

Join Dwayne Boyd and Robert Marchman to learn how the Securities and Exchange Commission successfully conducted their highly effective Diversity Dialogues in response to racial unrest in 2020. For many, this was the first race-based discussion at work. Mr. Boyd and Mr. Marchman will discuss whether it is appropriate (or wise) to have race-based discussions at work and how to connect such discussions to mission effectiveness. You will gain an understanding of the purpose of these discussions and outcomes, as well as an overview of the SEC’s dialogues, including techniques used. Finally, the instructors will skillfully guide you through how to stay away from politically charged comments and how to redirect inappropriate discussions.
